ULTRA-Z™ LIPOSCULPTURE

Ultra-Z is a high-frequency ultrasound machine used for liposculpture, a type of fat removal procedure.

Anaesthetic: Conscious sedation with local anaesthetic

Return to work: 3 – 5 days later

Procedure time: 3 – 4 hours

Duration of results: Indefinite depending on lifestyle maintenance

Treatment: Unwanted fat which doesn’t respond to diet or exercise

Recovery Time: 10 – 14 days

Ultrasonic energy is used to break down fatty tissue and minimise damage to surrounding tissues.

How it works

  • The Ultra-Z probe emits high-frequency ultrasound waves that create micro bubbles in the treatment area
  • The bubbles expand and collapse, dislodging fat and mixing it into the solution
  • The fat is emulsified, or turned into a frothy liquid

Recovery

  • Patients may need to wear an elasticised garment on the treated area for at least two weeks
  • Patients may need to take antibiotics
  • Patients should avoid high-impact exercise for two weeks

Benefits

  • Minimally invasive
  • Fast
  • Reduces damage to nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue
  • Can reduce the appearance of cellulite
  • Can improve body contouring

How does this treatment differ from traditional liposuction done by plastic surgeons?

Traditional liposuction mechanically removes fat in a more aggressive manner, depending on the surgeon’s experience and skills. Surrounding tissues can be damaged and there is a longer recovery period with swelling and bruising. Results may be uneven with loose skin afterwards. With the Ultra-Z™ system, fat is gently removed and can be aspirated easily without damaging other important tissues, nerves and blood vessels. The procedure can be done with local anaesthesia, with less bleeding, pain, swelling and bruising afterward.

It is mandatory to book for an initial consultation to determine health and lifestyle baseline as well as suitability of treatment choice. A quotation will then be provided as well as instructions on going forward with the procedure which will then be scheduled.

The procedure uses ultrasonic energy to effectively break down unwanted fat in the face and body. The doctor uses a method called aspiration to remove the liquidised fat, which is a suction technique to remove volumes of fat. A local anaesthetic is used on the treatment area and a small incision will be made through the skin by the doctor. A cannula is inserted through the skin and a probe is used to emulsify the fatty tissue. The emulsified fat cells are then suctioned out via the small cannula.
